Maintenance Supervisor (Tempo)
Home Chef is a leading meal solutions company, offering ready‑to‑heat products through its Tempo brand. Tempo delivers quick, healthy meals directly to customers’ doors.
Shift Schedule First shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with days off on Sunday and Monday.
Role Overview The Tempo Maintenance Supervisor is the subject‑matter expert for all Ready‑to‑Heat (RTH) equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown analysis. The role leads maintenance activities, trains operators, manages CMMS data, coordinates vendors, and drives continuous improvement.
Detailed Responsibilities Equipment & Preventive Maintenance
Serve as the on‑site SME for all RTH equipment.
Perform and oversee weekly PMs and major PMs on Multivacs, ovens, blast chillers, skillets, sleeve printers, and related assets.
Lead breakdown analysis, documenting context, actions, and results for all emergency work orders.
Support startups of sleeve printers, dishwashers, Hobart mixers, and any new RTH equipment.
Plan and coordinate additional work during PMs to address recurring production issues.
Provide recommendations for improvements to PM content and frequency.
Monitor and report equipment health in daily and weekly RTH meetings.
Assist in reviewing and revising SOPs in coordination with the RTH process engineer.
Training & Team Support
Train and mentor other maintenance technicians to develop RTH system competency.
Provide guidance to machine operators on proper operation and care of RTH equipment.
Share troubleshooting best practices with peers to reduce downtime.
CMMS, Inventory & Documentation
Own RTH CMMS management for work orders, PM tracking, and equipment history.
Manage and organize spare parts inventory specific to RTH assets.
Ensure accurate records of emergency repairs, PMs, and contractor/vendor work.
Contractor & Vendor Coordination
Coordinate site vendor visits and contractor work related to RTH equipment.
Ensure contractor compliance with Home Chef safety and food safety policies, GMPs, and regulatory standards.
Other
Participate in weekly maintenance meetings and support continuous improvement projects.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce costs, and support RTH fulfillment goals.
Work with Sanitation and FSQA teams to improve cleaning procedures toward food safety and machine safety.
General Responsibilities
Follow facility GMPs and help enforce them throughout the facility.
Support the company’s efforts to maintain the SQF food safety system and quality programs.
This position requires 10% travel.
Qualifications
High school degree or equivalent (e.g., GED) required.
Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing background strongly preferred.
At least two years of electrical or programming experience preferred.
Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, servo systems, and industrial electronics systems required.
Proficiency with hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
Strong knowledge of electrical wiring repairs and installations, AC/DC controls, and schematic diagrams.
PIT and scissor lift OSHA certification preferred.
Solid computer skills with ability to input/export information into a CMMS.
