Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking a highly motivated
Paint Production Supervisor
to oversee our
Paint & Powder Coat Operation
on both
day and night shifts . This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, and leading a team to achieve performance goals. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial finishing, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for the Paint & Powder Coat Operation on both day and night shifts.
Ensure quality standards are met for painted and powder-coated products.
Monitor workflow, adjust staffing as needed, and troubleshoot production issues.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members to maximize performance and adherence to safety protocols.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Maintain and enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Collaborate with other departments to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
Track production metrics, report performance data, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
Ensure proper maintenance and operation of painting and powder coating equipment.
Required Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or finishing environment.
Strong background in paint and powder coating operations.
Experience with production scheduling, quality control, and process improvement.
Skills
Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial paint and powder coating applications.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Exposure to paint fumes, powder coating materials, and varying temperatures.
Work Environment
Manufacturing facility with day and night shifts.
Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and adaptability.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas.
