Reliability Maintenance Supervisor (2nd Shift)
Location: Mishawaka, IN
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations in our aluminum extrusion facility. The ideal candidate will lead a maintenance team, ensure machinery, equipment, and facilities operate optimally, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead, train, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians and staff to ensure timely and efficient execution of maintenance activities across the production facility.
Preventive Maintenance Program: Oversee and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment, including extruders, presses, ovens, and auxiliary systems.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and lead team in diagnosing and repairing failures to minimize production downtime.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure routine checks, repairs, and servicing of aluminum extrusion machinery and auxiliary equipment, maintaining detailed records.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures and company policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
Inventory Management: Manage spare parts and tools inventory, ensuring availability of critical components.
Budget & Cost Control: Assist in development of the maintenance department's budget, ensuring effective cost control and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Team Development: Provide coaching and training to maintenance personnel, developing their skills.
Production Support: Collaborate with production team to plan and execute maintenance activities around production schedules.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in efforts to improve equipment performance, processes, and work methods to increase operational efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and generate regular reports to management.
What You'll Need to Have
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within an industrial or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes, machinery, and equipment maintenance.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Familiarity with PLC systems and industrial automation.
Proficiency in maintenance management software and related tools.
Ability to lead, train, and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations within an industrial environment.
Flexibility to work flexible hours, including on-call duties, if necessary.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, work in confined spaces and noisy environments.
Work Environment
Manufacturing plant with exposure to industrial equipment, hot surfaces, and elevated noise levels.
Work shifts may include evenings, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs.
