Base Pay Range $19.96/hr – $26.41/hr
Location and Position NH Fish and Game Department, Business Division/Fleet Management 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03301 Position #: 43026 – Auto Mechanic – Hourly: $19.96 – $26.41 per hour
Summary Perform skilled mechanical work, maintaining, repairing and equipping motor vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, and off‑highway recreation vehicles. Maintain parts inventory and supplies as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after high school in automotive mechanics.
Valid driver’s license.
Motor vehicle inspection certification (preferred).
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum agency standards.
Other Requirements
Applicants with 2+ years of relevant education and experience may be considered for trainee status.
Responsibilities
Repairs and maintains motor vehicles, boats, snowmobiles and all‑terrain vehicles within the division’s fleet.
Prepares and coordinates a preventive maintenance schedule and maintains service records.
Performs state vehicle inspections to meet state and federal standards.
Researches and recommends automotive repair equipment and systems.
Maintains parts inventory and oversees procurement of parts from outside suppliers.
Uses computerized diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve maintenance problems.
Performs inspections and road/field tests to ensure vehicle safety and proper functioning.
