Ultrasound Technologist II – AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Shawnee Mission, KS Location: 9100 West 74th Street, Merriam, KS 66204 (AdventHealth Shawnee Mission) Posted: November 1, 2025 Schedule: Full-time Shift: Three 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM; No weekends; No call; 1 holiday per year The Ultrasound Technologist II performs a variety of diagnostic medical sonography procedures providing high-quality exams for interpretation by a Radiologist. Sets up and assists in invasive procedures when ultrasound is used as a guidance tool. Performs all tasks necessary to provide quality patient care. An Ultrasound Technologist III will be required to have a minimum of 4 registries. Responsibilities
Performs a variety of diagnostic medical sonography procedures with quality imaging for interpretation by Radiologists. Sets up and assists in invasive procedures when ultrasound is used as a guidance tool. Positions and transfers patients for exams; assists physicians in performing invasive procedures; checks necessary lab work pre-exam and delivers specimens with proper paperwork. Practices sterile technique to prevent contamination; maintains records per department and hospital policies. Operates Cerner System proficiently; troubleshoots problems with orders and makes corrections within scope of user level. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of Ultrasound Department; produces quality diagnostic ultrasound images using proper equipment, technique, and factors. Follows AIDET communication framework; attends a minimum of 50% of scheduled department meetings and obtains information from missed meetings. Performs all ultrasound procedures according to department policies; complies with department and hospital safety standards. Cooperates with all associates in proper conduct of the department and performs other related duties as required by the Radiology Director. Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School Preferred 1 to 2 years of position-related experience Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Registered as Vascular Technologist (RVT) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdominal or OB/GYN (RDMS) Two Additional Registries The facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws and regulations.
