Position Summary Supervises daily activities of clinical offices, support staff, and ancillary services associated with patient care.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Supervises support staff involved in clinical activities in clinical office sites, maintaining adequate workflow, coverage and schedules.

Arranges for availability of medical records needed for services.

Resolves personnel problems, conducts meetings pertinent to staffing issues and documents appropriately.

Interviews and hires applicants for positions, supervises training of new employees, conducts job evaluations, job performance counseling and makes salary recommendations.

Implements and maintains office procedure manuals and current job descriptions of personnel supervised.

Maintains a system of backup transcription services for academic and research needs of the department.

Serves as a liaison between service provider, patient and clerical and support personnel.

Assists clerical staff as backup during illnesses/vacations.

Ensures patient examination areas are staffed and maintained.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications:

Any of the following may be required:

Assessment Based Recognition (ABR) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

Basic Life Support – American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants

Licensed Practical Nurse – Illinois or Missouri licensing boards

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Registered Nurse – Illinois or Missouri licensing boards

Work Experience:

Relevant Experience – 5 Years.

Skills:

Not Applicable.

Driver's License:

Not required.

Preferred Qualifications

Medical Assistant certification/registration:

Registered or eligible graduate, or graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Proof of Medical Assistant registration/certification within six months of hire.

Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire.

Work Experience:

Supervisory – 2 Years.

Skills:

Communication, Medical Terminology, Organizing, Supervision.

Job Details Grade:

C10

Salary Range:

$52,600.00 - $78,900.00 annually
