Civil Service Title - Civil Engineer II

Under the direction of EIC, serves as a Civil Engineer II in the Monitoring and Survey Unit of the Bureau of Engineering Review and Support. Performs field surveys and visual inspections of bridges and retaining walls, monitors cracks and movements in bridge structures, verifies field elevations, and operates survey equipment. Collects data and maintains databases for projects. A valid driver’s license in New York State is required.
Preferred Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Recent experience operating survey equipment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.

Minimum Qualifications:
Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory civil engineering experience.
A valid New York State Professional Engineer's License, maintained throughout employment.
Note: A master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution may substitute for one year of experience. To qualify for higher levels, at least one year of recent experience as a project leader on complex projects is required.
