We are seeking an experienced
CIVIL CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR
for a full-time position located in Fort Worth, Texas. Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support infrastructure improvement projects throughout the city. This role involves performing detailed inspections of water, sewer, storm drainage, and street construction to ensure compliance with city standards, specifications, and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities
Perform daily field inspections of paving (asphalt and concrete) for both residential and arterial streets. Inspect installation of water and sanitary sewer systems, including connections, lines, and appurtenances. Oversee storm drainage system construction and verify proper grading, alignment, and materials. Ensure contractor compliance with approved plans, specifications, and local codes. Monitor jobsite safety and verify appropriate traffic control measures are in place. Coordinate with city engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve field issues and maintain progress. Document inspection results, prepare daily reports, and maintain accurate project records. Utilize proper testing and inspection equipment to verify construction quality. Identify potential deficiencies and communicate corrective actions promptly. Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of construction inspection experience, preferably with municipal infrastructure or public works projects. Construction inspection, including earthwork, stormwater pipes, concrete and drainage structures. Strong working knowledge of paving, water, sewer, and storm drain construction. Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, drawings, and specifications. Familiarity with confined space entry procedures; Confined Space Entry Certification. Good understanding of construction specifications and plans. Proficient in the use of computers and software programs (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel). Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with contractors and city staff. Valid Texas driver\'s license and acceptable driving record. Certifications

Observing the work in progress for conformance with project documents Performing drainage and retaining wall structure inspections Reviewing/approving formwork, rebar placement, finishing and curing of concrete Reviewing/approving placement and backfill of pipe Reviewing/approving placement of riprap materials Verifying project grades and alignments are in accordance with project plans and specifications Preparing daily reports and maintaining an inspection diary Maintaining contract documentation filing system Taking construction progress photos Retaining tickets, receipts, documents, etc. from construction material vendors Coordinating response to RFIs and submittals Coordinating schedule for material field testing services Ensuring project grades and alignments are in accordance with the plans Inspecting TCP and SWPPP for compliance with the plans Reviewing field progress against approved CPM schedule and documenting/reporting variations Reviewing progress payment applications and making recommendations on accuracy for pay items Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery and mechanical parts, uneven ground, dust, gas or fumes, loud noise, and outside weather conditions. Physical Requirements
The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting are required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field, work near hazardous equipment and machinery, walk on uneven ground, and work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and possibly work at heights. Other Requirements
Possession of a valid state of residence driver\'s license with a clean driving record. Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town assignments may be required. Long term, out of town assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates. May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client\'s needs, including nights, overtime and weekends.
