Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an HVAC Technician to join its team within the Mission Systems Organization. This position is located in
Linthicum, Maryland . Primary Function
Perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks to install, operate, maintain, adjust, diagnose and repair facility heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation, boilers, and air handling systems and associated fans, air cleaners, air compressors, chillers, pumps, motors, etc. Responsibilities
Perform work of equal or lower skill level as required. Perform a variety of maintenance tasks requiring considerable skill and initiative, including operation and maintenance of equipment connected with facility heating, ventilation, and cooling systems (boilers, air cleaners, air handling units, air compressors, fans, chillers, filters, controls, etc.). Diagnose malfunctions of HVAC equipment by interpreting drawings, sketches, or instructions and repair as necessary. Safely use tools such as ammeters, voltmeters, thermometers, gauges, detectors, and related instruments. Regulate and maintain air handling systems for clean rooms and office/shop areas; take readings and make electronic/mechanical adjustments to ensure proper operation. Advise supervisor and facility engineers of malfunctions and assist with design changes if needed. Obtain, deliver, and move materials, tools, and equipment using appropriate material handling equipment. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, grounds work, lubrication, lamp/filter changes, and inspections. Utilize computerized data management systems to maintain records of preventive maintenance and repairs; report unsafe conditions to supervision. Perform other duties within the scope of the position. This is an SEA Union represented position. This is a 5th Shift position. Education Requirement
High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of an approved four-year electrical or pipefitter apprenticeship program plus completion of an HVAC Technical School or six years of equivalent industrial HVAC experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of this position.
