Fleet Services By Cox Automotive is currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ( PM ), DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various types of truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling, starters/alternators, fuel systems, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, and related components. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various systems and components, including electrical, braking, cooling, air conditioning, engine electronics, and drive components, in accordance with company standards. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate and evaluate alternatives with sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on the company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work activities and time allocations effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document work according to company standards and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using a company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion. Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule. Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or close to standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs performed. Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings. Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Maintain the company-issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre-/post-trip inspections. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related experience; alternative combinations accepted (e.g., higher-level degree/certification or 5 years' related experience). Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must meet DOT/FMCSA regulations and successfully complete a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment; or submit a valid DOT medical card with expiration more than four months away in lieu of a DOT physical. Be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority regulations; valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File. Required certifications or obtained within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI). Preferred Certifications

ASE T3 (Drivetrain), T4 (Brakes), T5 (Suspension), T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems), T7 (HVAC), and T8 (PMI) and/or ASE 608/609 where applicable. Skills & Abilities
