Join a high-growth engineering firm specializing in advanced motor and electromechanical systems. In this hands-on role, you’ll drive mechanical design, testing, and optimization efforts that will directly impact product capability, reliability, and manufacturability. You will collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and leadership to convert technical visions into production-ready designs in demanding applications.
About the Opportunity
The base pay range for this position is $90,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design, prototyping, and production launch for high-performance electric motor systems Conduct thermal, structural, and electromagnetic simulations to refine system performance Build and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and mechanical drawings (SolidWorks or equivalent) Define and select materials (laminations, magnetics, coatings) for optimal performance and manufacturability Guide design for manufacturability (DFM) and supplier integration to support volume production Develop and execute test plans to validate designs under normal and fault conditions Manage BOMs, technical documentation, and revision control Partner cross-functionally to align mechanical designs with control systems, electrical constraints, and system-level requirements Participate in project planning, risk assessments, and status reporting for concurrent engineering projects Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous process improvements in mechanical workflows Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline Demonstrated experience in mechanical design and system-level engineering of electric motors, actuators, or electro-mechanical systems Proficiency with CAD (preferably SolidWorks), GD&T, and mechanical simulation tools Hands-on experience with prototype assembly, test validation, and iterative design cycles Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills Experience working in regulated environments or quality systems (e.g. ISO, AS9100, ISO 13485) is a plus Familiarity with costed BOMs, ERP systems, and supplier management Why This Role Matters
Directly impact next-generation motor and motion solutions in high-stakes domains (aerospace, defense, medical, robotics) Work with a lean, agile engineering organization where your design decisions are visible to leadership Potential for performance-based bonuses tied to product success Opportunity for long-term career growth and technical influence We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
