Overview
Superintendent (Independence Construction) role at DiGeronimo Companies. Independence Construction is expanding and opening a new Columbus, OH office. We are looking for a diligent and team-focused Superintendent who will be responsible for day-to-day field operations. Responsibilities
Help update and analyze project schedules on a regular basis with subcontractors, vendors, Project Superintendent and Project Manager; communicate schedule changes or adjustments to appropriate parties. Track and verify daily production rates with regard to the schedule. Assist Superintendent in coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and laborers to meet project schedules. Project safety planning and management; manage OSHA inspections with Project Superintendent and Safety Director. Help develop Site Specific Safety Plans with Superintendent and Safety Manager and review monthly with project teams and Safety Manager. Manage and enforce Independence Construction’s Safety Program and rules. Lead morning huddles on site and ensure safety is discussed. Apply for building and all required miscellaneous project permits, in conjunction with or as assigned by PM / Project Superintendent. Manage quality control logs and deficiency reports; complete daily project reports. Assist with close-out of contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and/or suppliers. Perform and/or verify punch list item accuracy to ensure timely completion. Inspect work in place, including shoring, placement, steel reinforcing, post-tensioning, and all other items for compliance with project specifications. Qualifications
At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible roles in construction and construction management, including at least 3 years of experience as an assistant superintendent on commercial projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential company issues; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels internally and externally. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to write reports and business correspondence; able to organize work and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Able to perform duties independently; proficient in Microsoft Office and CM software (e.g., Procore, P6); knowledge of all construction delivery systems; strong attention to detail.
