Winter Services a leader in the snow removal industry is currently seeking a highly-motivated individual to work as a full-time year round Fleet Mechanic in the WI area. As a Fleet Mechanic it will be your duty to inspect and repair our company vehicles and equipment (trucks plows heavy equipment ETC) as well as perform preventative maintenance to ensure our inventory are running to the best of their ability and will be safe for next season operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains vehicles which may include a companys fleet of trucks heavy equipment etc.
Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
Identifies mechanical problems.
Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads belts water pumps transmissions and other mechanical parts.
Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
Visits job sites and other facilities to inspect vehicles.
Has a working knowledge of DOT requirements
Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
A valid drivers license CDL B Preferred
Candidates have availability to work long shifts during the snow season.
A great work ethic and attitude
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Candidate must possess a strong background in brakes suspension exhaust and emissions light fabrication hydraulics electrical and diagnostics
Prior knowledge of skids loaders tractors etc is a plus. ASE / Other Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
