Position Overview As a Project Engineer at LJA Transportation, you will be responsible for design calculations, preparing plans, and developing schematic designs for FDOT, local government, and regional infrastructure projects while collaborating with team members, clients, and consultants. You’ll apply advanced engineering principles and exercise independent judgment – all while enjoying a supportive, team‑oriented culture.

A Typical Day Might Include

Performing design calculations, preparing plans, and directing schematic designs for FDOT, local government, and other projects around the region.

Using advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices.

Interacting with task leaders, team members, clients, and other consultants.

Exercising judgment in independently evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Mentoring direct reports, and conveying knowledge to others.

Team lunches, breakfasts, and social activities.

Required Education / License / Certifications

Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering

Licensed as a Professional Engineer (Florida preferred as starting point)

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience with MicroStation, Geopak (or Open Roads) and FDOT procedures

Effective communication skills to engage with other employee‑owners.

Ideally, You Should Also Have

Experience with Microstation ORD

Experience with Large Scale FDOT Projects or Programs

Advanced skills in specialized software programs

Technical Training Experience
