Lead Structural Field Engineer
Position at Bechtel Corporation – Thacker Pass, NV. Relocation authorized National/International – Camp. Telework type: Full-Time Office/Project. Salary range: $135,860 – $207,190 annually.
Project Overview Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States. Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating engineering and construction efforts.
Job Summary Lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals. Direct craft activities and schedules, coordinate subcontract work, and develop your team to meet specifications, schedules, and budgets.
Major Responsibilities
PFS Tier I – applicable to area superintendents and PFSs on projects
Leadership and supervision of discipline and lead superintendents with 100+ craft.
Engage in team development through CPM, competency assessment, and feedback.
Plan and determine workforce requirements, produce progress reports and forecasts.
Monitor tool and equipment usage, prepare field material requisitions.
Ensure compliance with specifications, corporate/process policies, and quality standards.
Interpret engineering design documents and coordinate engineering solutions with subcontractors.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and 13‑15 years of relevant experience, or 17‑19 years of experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Experience with Bechtel direct hire craft preferred.
Contract management experience.
Understanding of Bechtel work processes and Standard Work Process Procedures.
Experience in mining and metals.
Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) such as ACONEX, TEAMWorks, etc.
Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving ability.
