Eikon - Mechanical Engineer (Entry level)
Eikon Research is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a long-term career opportunity onsite at their Huntsville, AL location. The Mechanical Engineer role is diverse, and responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Working with other system / RF engineers to design and develop models for new mechanical assemblies, plan cabling (selection, routing, bulkheads), and source parts for different sub-assemblies.
Procurement of mechanical assemblies, including vendor engagement, drawing preparation, and verification.
Develop acceptance procedures for vendor hardware assemblies.
Assembly of and assessment of prototypes for new hardware assemblies.
Maintenance of the system bill of materials and configuration management.
and reviewing documentation, including drawings for technical data packages, work instructions, thermal modeling / simulation results, and other data products.
Participating in Agile development practices, including daily stand ups, sprint planning, and reviews.
Requirements
U.S. Citizen.
Willing to work in-office when performing hardware integration and testing is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3+ months’ experience with design engineering, ideally within DoD, aerospace, or defense contracting environments.
Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX).
Background in the design of military systems is preferred.
