Overview EVT Certified Diesel Mechanic role at Transdev North America in Pembroke Pines, FL. This position requires diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of diesel-powered assets.

Responsibilities

Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.

Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.

Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.

Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.

Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.

Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

1 to 2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

CDL Driver's License required.

ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.

Mechanic’s Tool Set.

Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs for any reason.

Benefits and Compensation

Competitive compensation: $26.00 – $35.00 per hour.

$2,000 sign-on bonus available for candidates holding both EVT and ASE Master Certifications.

Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks; Sick days: 5 days; Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating).

Other standard benefits: 401(k), medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.

Company paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement.

Physical Requirements

Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; 100% of the job is performed outside; may work alone or in remote locations.

Sit for extended periods; stand or walk long distances; navigate uneven surfaces.

Push/pull objects; lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch.

Work in areas with heavy traffic and exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
