Generator Field Service Technician. We are looking for a highly motivated, responsible candidate with a strong Power Generation background. We need a candidate who has great customer service and communication skills. Our ideal candidate will have extensive Military training and experience in Power Generation or Power Production, Diesel and Gas Turbine Generators, along with 2-3 years of commercial/industrial experience outside of the military.
Responsibilities
Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of generators
Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components of the generator, engine and switch gear
Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department and customers
Keep paper work updated and handed in upon completion
Meet requirements for certifications
Qualifications / Desired Skills
Servicing, repairing and installing high quality brand rental power generation equipment and services
Extensive background with Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler or related brands essential
Automatic Transfer Switch experience desired
Ability to perform Load Testing or Load Banking testing on site
Have the ability to design, prepare and install generators on site
Perform maintenance & troubleshooting on generators that are used in a variety of industries
Prior experience and formal training in a variety of electrical and diesel generators, ranging from 1 kW to 300 mW
A good driving record is required
Positive attitude and excellent customer relationship skills
The ability to set goals and accomplish them
The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic and the ability to work with little supervision
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with industrial power generations sets
Experience with diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switchgear, and automatic transfer switches
Must have your own set of general tools
Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
Use computers for web-based training and work order system
Technical degree or certification a plus
Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
Clean driving record and the ability to pass a D.O.T. Physical
