We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Architectural Metal Fabrication Drafter to join a collaborative and innovative fabrication team. This position focuses on translating design concepts into precise submittal and shop-ready fabrication drawings for custom architectural metalwork. The ideal candidate brings several years of drafting experience within a fabrication environment, but talented commercial drafters eager to expand their skillset in architectural metals are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Create accurate part, assembly, and fabrication drawings—including flat layouts and detailed shop drawings—from design concepts and architectural documents.

Utilize 3D modeling software to generate and maintain production-ready drawing packages.

Collaborate closely with project managers, fabricators, and quality control to ensure designs align with manufacturing standards and tolerances.

Interpret and scale customer drawings, specifications, and architectural blueprints to develop practical fabrication solutions.

Support submittal drawing creation for customer review and approval.

Maintain drawing schedules and documentation to meet project timelines and production goals.

Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance drafting workflows and communication between design and production teams.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in custom architectural metal fabrication (aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel) preferred.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or SolidWorks; familiarity with BlueBeam is a plus.

Strong ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and translate them into buildable shop drawings.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and willingness to learn advanced fabrication techniques.

Work Environment

Combination of office and production floor exposure, with opportunities to observe and learn real-world fabrication processes.

Individual workstation equipped with dual monitors and drafting software.

Moderate shop noise levels; safety gear provided when on the floor.
