H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural/engineering/environmental consulting firm seeks a Professional Land Surveyor. Successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and applying standard surveying techniques in the field and office to plan, organize, and execute land surveying projects. Job Responsibilities: Receive instructions on specific assignments, objectives and complex features Perform a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with land surveying projects obtained by the company Broad understanding and experience for operating surveying equipment, such as Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS RTK & Static Observations Accurately calculate and record field data Review job specifications and plan fieldwork methods and costs Apply standard scientific/engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations of standard methods and techniques in the field and office Review and download field data Prepare field notes and draw sketches of existing site conditions Prepare detailed daily job reports and discuss projects with supervisor on a daily basis Maintain and troubleshoot complex instrumentation Draft and edit surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Perform other like duties as assigned Education and Qualifications: Professional Land Surveyor License Required (State of NJ) Must have substantial survey experience and strong knowledge of survey calculations, techniques and procedures Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment when making decisions Valid Driver’s license Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously during an 8-hour period Ability to perform strenuous work in a varying climate (heat and cold, etc) Must have good computer skills and be able to learn survey related software Strong verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of AutoCAD The
salary range
for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually. The employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications – not related to any applicant’s characteristics
