Our client is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities, develop sourcing strategies, and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost efficiency and supply chain reliability. This role requires a strong balance of strategic planning, negotiation expertise, and operational execution to support organizational goals. Objectives of the Role
Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize costs and enhance supply chain efficiency. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and ethical/sustainability standards. Negotiate favorable contracts and agreements that ensure competitive pricing and advantageous terms. Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with business requirements. Conduct market research to remain informed of supplier capabilities, pricing trends, and industry best practices. Manage supplier performance, resolve issues, and cultivate long-term partnerships. Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to balance demand, reduce excess, and prevent shortages. Key Responsibilities
Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes. Source and negotiate with potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities. Maintain strong supplier relationships through communication, evaluation, and problem resolution. Collaborate with stakeholders to create and execute procurement plans. Analyze demand forecasts and consumption trends to optimize inventory levels. Identify cost-saving opportunities and continuously improve procurement practices. Develop and track procurement metrics, presenting reports to leadership on performance and cost savings. Ensure sourcing practices comply with regulatory requirements and sustainability initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager. Strong knowledge of procurement principles, vendor management, and inventory management systems. Proven success in negotiation, cost optimization, and supplier evaluation. Experience with sustainable and socially responsible sourcing practices. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with local and national procurement laws and regulations. Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP). Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools. Experience mentoring or leading procurement teams. Strong organizational and time management skills.
