Meet Bright Morning Star Church
Bright Morning Star Church is a welcoming faith community committed to spiritual growth, worship, and service. The church emphasizes the teachings of Jesus Christ and provides a supportive environment for believers and newcomers alike. Through regular worship services and community outreach, Bright Morning Star Church seeks to inspire hope and foster strong connections among its members. Individuals are encouraged to deepen their relationship with God and engage in meaningful fellowship.
Unfortunately, Bright Morning Star’s pastor, Reuben Gonzalez, fell ill this year and is unable to continue the tremendous work he has done. Now the church is poised for new leadership and is fully supported and funded through the nonprofit agency, Keep Bloomington Beautiful.
Current Stage Re-plant / restart (previous pastor retired due to illness; congregation declined).
Facilities The church building is provided and maintained by our nonprofit (no mortgage burden).
Community Integration Supported by our nonprofit, Keep Bloomington Beautiful (keepbloomingtonbeautiful.com), which operates housing, food, clothing, and other aid programs.
Target Audience We are here for families in Bloomington, Victoria County, and beyond—especially those who feel overlooked or overwhelmed. Our heart is for the working poor, single parents, and underserved youth, but through our digital ministry, we also reach people across the world who are hungry for hope, encouragement, and a fresh start in God.
About the Church Planter Bright Morning Star is seeking an entrepreneurial, outreach-oriented minister with a heart to re-launch a loving church that ministered to underserved families and residents. He/she will love people and accept them as they are and help them grow spiritually. The planter will have pastoral experience, and those with specialization in revitalization are encouraged to apply. The person will also have proficiency with digital media (streaming, social media) as to serve the home ridden residents affiliated with the nonprofit organization Keep Bloomington Beautiful. This organization is supporting the efforts of the church with funding and programming. This is a unique opportunity for the right person who is looking to do kingdom service.
Church Planter’s Responsibilities
Rebuild the congregation from the ground up.
Provide Bible-based, Spirit-led preaching & teaching.
Equip volunteers and develop lay leadership.
Partner with our nonprofit programs to extend outreach.
Establish sustainable discipleship, worship, and service rhythms.
Cast vision and mobilize the community for long-term growth.
Submit at least one monthly Pastor’s Column to Revista de Victoria (local newspaper) and the Victoria Advocate.
Lead and inspire a strong digital ministry that shares God’s Word through social media, video devotionals, and sermon highlights—using every online platform to encourage, uplift, and reach people with the message of hope.
What You Bring The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Church Planter:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
3 years experience (pastoral or staff pastor roles).
Experience in church planting or revitalization preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Social Media engagement.
Knowledge of church planting or revitalization.
Personal Characteristics and Qualifications
Heart for underserved communities.
Comfortable with Preaching and teaching.
Ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
High integrity and moral standing.
