Summary Of Job The Export Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing international and domestic shipments to ensure compliance, efficiency, and timely delivery. This role is based in the Distribution Center (DC) but requires frequent visits to multiple 3PL locations within the El Paso region. The position serves as a key liaison between internal departments, external suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to maintain compliance with export regulations and to support operational excellence across the supply chain.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Coordinate and monitor international shipments, including movements from major U.S. ports (primarily Houston), and ensure proper documentation and timely delivery.

Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, manifests, and customs forms.

Work closely with customs brokers, 3PLs, freight forwarders, cross-dock operations, and internal teams to resolve shipment-related issues.

Utilize AS400, WMS [Baan], TMS and E2Open systems to track both ocean and domestic shipments, ensuring accurate and real‑time visibility.

Develop and implement training for other employees, job instructions, SOPs, and best practices for export and import processes.

Perform financial tasks related to export operations, including cost tracking, billing verification, and audit preparation.

Maintain accurate records of all shipments and conduct inbound/outbound audits to ensure compliance.

Drive process excellence by identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Provide regular updates and reporting to management on shipment status, exceptions, and performance metrics.

Apply financial knowledge to support operational decisions.

Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, such as review of palletized lots and initiation of alternative cross‑dock procedures.

Education And Qualifications

Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field required, or equivalent to 3–5 years of experience in logistics, international trade, shipping, or export coordination.

Strong knowledge of export/import processes, documentation, and regulatory requirements.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of TMS, E2Open, and ERP systems (BAAN preferred).

Intermediate–advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

Occasional lifting of packages or documents up to 25 lbs.

Ability to travel locally to multiple 3PL locations as required.

Advanced understanding of inventory management.

Principles and practices of inventory management/control and work safety.

Soft Skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners.

Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
