Airbus Helicopters is looking for an experienced helicopter A&P mechanic to join our Maintenance & Repair (MAR) team based in Grand Prairie, TX. This position is a temporary (contract) role with no specific time period but may be extended or shortened as needed. Perform work on assigned electronic components. Repair or replace electronic components and systems. Conduct operational checks to verify proper functioning of components. Diagnose malfunctions or failures and make adjustments, repairs or replacements of parts or circuitry. Primary Responsibilities
Assembly, Installation, Repair or Replacement: 50% Perform work on assigned units from component maintenance manuals. Ensure repairs and completed work are in accordance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company processes. Complete maintenance orders pertaining to completion of assigned work. Coordinate with Business Office for required parts requests, supplies, and AOG priority of job assignments. Ensure maintenance data being used is of the latest revision level. Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under DOT and FAA regulations. Test and Repair: 40% Operate and set up auto test, bench test equipment in accordance with Component Maintenance Manuals. Diagnose faults by troubleshooting and isolating fault from LRU level to SRU level, and finally component level (transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, diodes, etc.). Use touch-up and through-hole soldering skills to remove and replace components on printed circuit boards using the component maintenance manual. Use computer systems (Windows, SAP, HTML, ZOC, RS232, and IEEE) for testing and reporting. Conduct Final Test: 10% Final test in accordance with Component Maintenance Manual Follow all OSHA, safety and environmental regulations Ensure Electrostatic Sensitive Devices (ESD) processes are adhered to at all phases of the repair process. Coordinate with warehouse for required parts or search bench stock. Ensure all test equipment and tools are in a serviceable condition and have up-to-date calibration sticker. Education Required: High School Diploma Preferred Some trade school Experience Required: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in aviation avionics systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection. Licensure/Certifications Required: None Preferred: FCC license; Through hole-soldering certification Travel Less than 5% Domestic and International Citizenship Authorized to Work in the US Clearance None Required Skills Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics Basic understanding of electronic circuits Ability to diagnose, identify and repair defective electronic components on PCB Ability to solder components to circuit boards Ability to do through-hole soldering Communication Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English Technical Systems Proficiency Basic computer proficiency Preferred: Knowledge of Micro-computer, Micro-controller concepts, Bus interfaces, Discrete I/O, ARINC-429 Avionics standards; Microsoft Word/Excel; ZOC, SAP, RS232 test software experience Decision Making Able to independently assess issues in electronic components and determine necessary repairs Organizational Information
