Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector III (Quality Inspector III) reports directly to the Manager of Quality Control. The role is responsible for performing dimensional inspections using advanced tools and techniques to verify that hardware meets rigorous contractual and engineering standards. Candidates will gain hands‑on experience with state‑of‑the‑art computer‑aided inspection (CAI) equipment and will collaborate closely with engineers, customers, and cross‑functional teams to support mission‑critical aerospace and defense programs. Key Responsibilities

Perform independent inspections, validations, and verifications of hardware to ensure compliance with drawings and contractual requirements. Conduct intermediate‑level inspections utilizing surface plate techniques and CAI equipment (CMM, Verisurf, FARO/Romer, laser trackers, video dimensioning systems) at the operator level. Apply GD&T principles (Angularity, Profile, Runout, Symmetry, True Position) and use basic algebra and trigonometry to calculate true positions and perform dimensional analysis. Interpret and communicate inspection results and issues to customers, engineers, and management. Operate and interpret CAI programs/models as needed. Perform casting and forging layouts and provide guidance and oversight to junior inspectors. Conduct source inspections and travel in support of Marvin Engineering quality needs. Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Minimum 5 years of experience as a dimensional inspector. Minimum 3 years of direct, hands‑on experience operating surface plates and CAI equipment (e.g., Verisurf) at the operator level. Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their practical application. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements with minimal supervision. Proficiency in basic algebra and trigonometry. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Comfortable working in a diverse team environment. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing). Preferred Qualifications

College degree in engineering or a related technical field. Certifications in GD&T, quality inspection, or relevant ASQ areas. Experience interpreting and using CAI programs and 3D models. Familiarity with advanced CAI systems such as laser trackers or video dimensioning tools. Experience performing casting and forging layouts. Experience conducting source inspections. Prior experience mentoring or training junior inspectors. Work Environment
