Employment Coordinator, Office of the VP for Student Affairs Location: Binghamton, NY. Position ID 194203. Full‑time. Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Description The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs seeks a detail‑oriented Employment Coordinator to support employment compliance, personnel information, and organizational management. The role reports to the Senior Director for Organizational Management and collaborates with Student Affairs, Human Resources, Payroll, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Responsibilities

Liaison between Student Affairs, Human Resources, Payroll, and DEI offices.

Assist with new employee hiring, paperwork processing, and separation procedures.

Review, route, and process employee status changes.

Maintain accurate employee records, offer letters, and key HR metrics.

Track performance programs, turnover rates, time‑to‑fill, and related data.

Coordinate background checks and degree verifications.

Approve HR forms and position requests.

Support HR projects, reporting, data analysis, and benchmarking.

Assist in creation and implementation of training and operations manuals.

Review and update divisional policies for SUNY and campus compliance.

Respond to HR inquiries and provide basic information.

Serve on division and university committees as assigned.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in human resources or a high‑level administrative position.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and G‑suite.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking ability.

Strong judgment with sensitive/confidential information and commitment to confidentiality.

Independent work style with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience with university information systems (Banner, SUNY‑HR, SUNY Business Analytics, Business Intelligence).

Experience working in higher education, especially a SUNY institution.

Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations and best practices.
