As part of the Project Management team, the Purchasing Project Manager is both the representative of the Purchasing Department within the project team and of the project team within the Purchasing Department.
Mission
Coordinate the Global/Regional Purchasing activity for the projects assigned
Guarantee the adequacy / alignment between the project and the commodity teams on sourcing strategies for all parts, including carry over, also taking into account the supplier risk
Contribute to the development of economic targets
Guarantee the achievement of project targets through the selection of suppliers
Ensure compliance with the conditions of execution of the supplier contract (in particular cost, time and production capacity, etc.) in the development, industrialization and / or mass production phase
Monitor the supplier's economic impacts for evolutions during development
Support to detect failing suppliers as early as possible and ensure the right level of reactivity and escalation to deal with these cases of failure
Expected Achievements
Elaborate and obtain the validation of the Sourcing Plan in Sourcing Table and Contract Milestone, integrating the international dimension, if necessary
Ensure the respect of the RFQs and supplier selection schedules
Formalize the project assessment at the supplier's choice
Maintain the project Target in terms of DMC, CAPEX and R&D at the supplier's selection and during the development phase
Ensure the proper execution of the supplier contract during the industrialization
Guarantee the achievement of ‘Tool Kick off’ with supplier in line with the planning and the capacity requirements of the project
Validate the transition to critical supplier monitoring escalation
Guarantee the robustness of final price for Mass production
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related field from an AACSB accredited program
Minimum 8 years of experience in purchasing or a related field
Proven ability to build and maintain strong regional and global relationships
Must be well organized, self-motivated, capable of managing conflict, and resourceful when managing complex assignments
Must be comfortable and excel in a fast paced environment
Results oriented and ability to lead cross-functional and global teams in issue resolution
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
Strong communication skills required; must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management
Customer focus and Strong knowledge of business processes across group purchasing
Ability to lead Program Buyers
