The Senior CNC Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day CNC machining operations in support of Dan Wesson’s precision firearms production. This position combines technical expertise in CNC programming, machining, and inspection with team leadership responsibilities. It plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality production output, regulatory compliance, and ongoing operational improvement. Responsibilities
Machining & Programming: Create and optimize CNC programs using SolidWorks; interpret SolidWorks models to develop accurate toolpaths and manufacturing processes; utilize advanced machining techniques including HEM, HSM, 5-axis, adaptive, and trochoidal milling; oversee machine setups and initial part runoffs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specs; design and create fixtures and tooling for production machining utilizing SolidWorks; utilize SolidWorks PDM to organize technical files; set up machines for optimal manufacturing; perform daily machining tasks as needed. Quality Control: Develop, implement and manage detailed inspection routines for both in-process and finished parts; perform and supervise inspections using CMMs, gauges, calipers, and other precision tools; collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering for continuous improvement and corrective actions. Leadership: Supervise CNC machinists, programmers, and setup technicians; assign tasks, manage scheduling, and ensure compliance with safety and operational policies; lead team training, coaching, and enforce safety and quality standards; conduct performance reviews and foster professional development of team members. Operational Improvement: Continuously seek to reduce cycle times, lower scrap rates, and improve setup efficiency; champion 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices; participate in cross-functional initiatives related to production planning and workflow optimization. Other: Complete other tasks assigned by Supervisor; complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner; maintain a clean and organized work area; assist all employees in the department in completing their work when necessary; adhere to all company policies and procedures. Education & Experience

Associates degree or higher preferred; high school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or associate degree in machining, engineering technology, or related field preferred. Required Experience & Skills
5+ years of CNC machining and programming experience. 2+ years of team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong command of G-code, SolidWorks, CAM tools (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360). Extensive understanding of GD&T, DFM, and CNC tooling. Experience working with firearm components and a solid grasp of ATF and ISO manufacturing compliance standards. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills. Preferred Experience & Skills
Experience with 5-axis machining and advanced toolpath strategies. Background in firearms manufacturing or highly regulated industries. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven performance management. Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct oversight of CNC operators, setup technicians, and programmers. Responsible for scheduling, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, and training. Travel Requirements
Minimal travel required. Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to legally possess firearms under applicable laws. Must know basic firearms safety. Ability to pass a criminal background test and drug test. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Vision, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or gases.
