Role Summary

commercial fire alarm systems

— keeping projects compliant, on schedule, and fully documented. If you know NFPA 72 cold, can program addressable panels without hand‑holding, and don’t miss on AHJ punch lists, this is your seat.

What You’ll Do

Install/Service:

Pull cable, set devices, terminate, label, and test addressable systems; perform diagnostics and repairs.

Programming/Commissioning:

Program panels, loops, and networks; complete cause‑and‑effect, smoke control, elevator recall, and MNS/voice evac.

Inspections:

Perform acceptance and recurring inspections to

NFPA 72 ; generate clean test reports and deficiency lists.

Integration:

Interface with

sprinkler/suppression ,

BAS , elevator, and monitoring; coordinate with low‑voltage trades.

Docs & Compliance:

Read plans/submittals, mark as‑builts, maintain redlines; ensure AHJ/permit compliance and closeout packages.

Customer Facing:

Train end users, communicate deficiencies/options, and provide clear service recommendations.

Safety & Quality:

Follow NEC/NFPA/OSHA; maintain a tidy, safe jobsite and company vehicle.

On‑Call:

Participate in rotating after‑hours service as needed.

Must‑Have Qualifications

3+ years

commercial

fire alarm

install/service/inspections.

Strong working knowledge of

NFPA 72

and

NEC (NFPA 70) .

Hands‑on with at least one major platform:

Notifier/ONYX, EST/Edwards, Simplex 4100, Siemens, Gamewell‑FCI, Fire‑Lite, Silent Knight .

Able to

program

addressable systems, perform loop diagnostics, and commission to AHJ standards.

Read/interpret one‑lines, risers, and device layouts; comfortable with laptops/config tools.

Valid driver’s license; clean MVR; ability to lift 50 lbs and work from ladders/lifts.

Nice to Have

Voice evac/MNS,

smoke control

sequences, networked panels/IP fundamentals (VLAN, static IP).

Hospital, higher‑ed, industrial, or high‑rise experience.
