Job Description Job Title:
Quality Control Inspector
The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for inspecting incoming raw materials, in-process, and final products to ensure they meet specific standards and drawing requirements.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure they meet specified quality standards and customer requirements.
Interpret and review shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other tools to perform detailed inspections.
Identify and document any defects or non-conformities, and work with production teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including reports on findings, deviations, and corrective actions taken.
Collaborate with the Quality Manager and production teams to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Assist in training production staff on quality control standards and best practices.
Essential Skills
3 years steel quality control background
3 years structural welding/steel fabrication (1 year required)
Experience with UT (ultrasonic testing)
Experience with Magnetic Particle Inspection
Proficient with blueprints
CWI certification is a plus but not required
Management of people is a big plus
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bernalillo, New Mexico.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
$18.00 - $24.00/hr
