Job Overview The Production Supervisor is responsible for all production, quality, production efficiency, employee performance, safety, and housekeeping of a manufacturing department.
Responsibilities
12‑hour shift, rotating 4 days on / 4 days off schedule.
Ensure effective employee relations and provide employee mentorship and development.
Ensure schedule alignment; department employees are present at the beginning of each shift and in accurate work areas.
Balance quality, efficiency, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results and continuously improve in all areas.
Supervise departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the operations manager.
Perform accident investigations and recommend actions to prevent reoccurrences.
Facilitate cross‑training.
Spend 80% of the shift on the production floor; lead people and get results through others.
Plan over a 30‑day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
Supervise employee hiring, retention, performance reviews, and subject‑area responsibilities.
Maintain attendance records in E‑time; manage inventory and production recording in SAP.
Qualifications
3–5 years of supervisory experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
Kaizen and/or Lean training helpful.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
