RWS is seeking a
Business Development Manager - Life Sciences
to be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing business with new clients who are looking to solve their language service and AI/technology challenges by working with RWS – a company who has been doing this for the World’s leading brands for more than six decades.
Business development managers are jointly responsible for generating their own pipeline by identifying, prospecting, and earning new customers through an effective sales strategy and approach. You will work in conjunction with our business consultants and operational colleagues to put the right solution in front of potential customers.
Business Development Managers have support from inside sales and marketing, but the focus of this role is hunting.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals.
Operate as a generalist or focus on specific products/verticals according to specific role.
Identify new opportunities and build pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, lead generation or collaboration with AM.
Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to align go-to-market efforts and messaging.
Represent RWS at events, trade shows, and client meetings to build brand visibility and credibility.
Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients to understand their needs and position solutions effectively.
Develop sales strategies to win new accounts or expand existing ones, lead sales cycle, tailor proposals and close contracts.
Partner with Industry Consultants and Pre-Sales to strengthen sales credibility.
Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends and new segments to target.
Feed insights back into Product and Marketing.
Formulate the forecast on opportunities in motion.
Keep CRM systems updated and maintain CRM hygiene.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of two years sales experience in or to the
life sciences sector .
Experience in selling to pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies and CROs.
Good understanding of the specific document types required for translation in pharmaceutical companies.
At least a basic understanding of the Linguistic Validation process for COAs.
A network of key decision makers for localization and technology in the life sciences industry.
Communication skills including delivery of presentations and pitches.
Experience of consultative sales.
Demonstrable success in closing new business and retaining existing accounts.
Demonstrable experience in prospecting, outbound lead generation activities.
Self-Organization.
Business analysis, planning and organizational skills.
Structured approach to selling.
Commercial awareness and results focus.
Relationship management.
Using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Ability to learn new products and services.
Experience tracking sales activity in a CRM tool (e.g. Salesforce).
Ability to work remotely with previous success in performing independently.
