Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife for a Great Opportunity in New Jersey Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team at 89 Sparta Ave, Suite 205, Sparta NJ 07871. Our medical team includes board-certified obstetricians, neonatology specialists, anesthesiology specialists, maternal-fetal specialists, and pediatricians, supported by specially trained nurses, nurse practitioners, and midwives. The CNM in both ambulatory and inpatient settings functions as an integral member of the healthcare team, providing direct patient care under physician supervision. Responsibilities include patient assessments, diagnosis, care planning, and treatment, participation in OB hospital call, and obstetrical and gynecological procedures. The CNM documents in medical records, participates in performance improvement initiatives, and attends department meetings and projects as outlined in the APN/Physician agreement. Inpatient Setting (Labor & Delivery)

Attends labor, monitors fetal condition, administers medications, and communicates with physicians regarding complications or surgical needs. Evaluates labor progression, collaborates during emergencies, assists with C-sections, and performs procedures such as FSE and IUPC. Evaluates pre-term labor, ROM, and emergency situations over 28 weeks. Provides postpartum care, manages postpartum emergencies, and participates in hospital call and weekend/holiday coverage. Ambulatory Office Care

Performs routine gynecological exams, diagnoses medical conditions, orders and interprets tests, and prescribes treatments. Provides antepartum care, prepares patients for labor, and offers family planning counseling. Supports breastfeeding and postpartum education. Additional Responsibilities

Prioritizes tasks, identifies improvement opportunities, and responds to urgent situations. Communicates effectively with patients and team members, makes referrals, and collaborates across disciplines. Engages in self-assessment, professional development, and feedback to improve practice. Performs activities outlined in the collaborative agreement and supports organizational goals.
