Dr. Pramod Butte, Ph.D. is looking for a Clinical Research Associate I to join a diverse team!
The primary focus of the Butte Laboratory is translational research in bio-photonics. The lab develops intra-operative imaging/visualization technologies to aid surgeons in tumor excision. To learn more about the Butte Lab, please visit this
website . As a Clinical Research Associate at Cedars-Sinai, you will assist in validating clinical trials for innovative medical imaging systems. This role offers the chance to work with a multidisciplinary team including optical, mechanical, electrical, and biomedical engineers, as well as surgeons, pathologists, and other medical personnel. You will contribute to the development and potential commercialization of a novel medical device technology. Experience or interest in a start-up environment with an entrepreneurial spirit is highly valued. The position provides exposure to a broad range of technologies, clinical trials, data collection, and the development of clinical protocols, all with a focus on technologies that significantly impact patient lives. The CRA I will work closely with a Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Program Administrator, or Research Nurse to coordinate and implement studies. Responsibilities include data evaluation and abstraction, ensuring protocol compliance, completing case report forms, limited patient contact, and assisting with study budgets and billing. The role adheres to all federal, local, FDA, IRB, and HIPAA guidelines and regulations related to the study and patient care. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: Schedule patients for research visits and procedures. Enter research data into Electronic Data Systems (EDCs) provided by sponsors. Provide supervised patient contact or follow-up as needed. Assist with IRB regulatory submissions, including adverse event reports and safety letters. Manage sample preparation, shipping, and study supplies. Maintain research practices following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. Ensure patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and applicable laws. Participate in required training and educational programs. Department-Specific Duties: Obtain patient consent for study participation, if authorized. Coordinate with OR staff for specimen transport, scanning, and processing. Handle and process specimens per protocol, including scanning with clinical imaging devices. Set up and dismantle clinical equipment used in studies.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience and Skills: Understanding of research objectives. Experience in clinical research preferred.
