Position description
Full time opportunity, working Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, seeing walk in injuries and scheduled follow up appointments from a variety of situations including sports injuries, non-sports injuries, and workers compensation at our main multi-specialty facility.
Responsibilities
Prevent, diagnose, and treat conditions such as arthritis or broken bones, repetitive motion injuries (such as tendonitis or tennis elbow), strains, sprains, and torn ligaments, tendons, and muscles. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of sports-related joint injuries affecting the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.
Provide conservative treatment modalities such as therapies, injections, and non-operative interventions.
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeon partners who are available in the building to see escalated referrals.
Utilize onsite X-Ray and CT with access to MRI at another local Benefis location.
Identify opportunities for future sports medicine growth, including sports physicals, training room clinics at local colleges and high schools, event coverage, wrestling weight certifications, regional education, and other initiatives as they are presented and agreed upon.
Qualifications
Licensed or eligible to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant with experience in orthopedics or sports medicine is preferred.
