Position Summary
Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory
Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing
Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques
Maintains equipment and medical supplies
Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
An approved nationally accredited training course in Phlebotomy (Preferred)
Certification from ASCP or NHA (Preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
Formal Phlebotomy training (Preferred)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
