RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides person centered wellness focused support to engage individuals in treatment and to promote use of the individual's wellness recovery plan; shares lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and in the communities; supports individuals in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery resiliency and self-advocacy.
Has knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance use disorders and the ability to assist the individual to address symptoms using their individual wellness plan.
Provides peer support; serves as an advocate; carries out wellness rehabilitation for mental health and substance use disorders and support functions; promotes recovery from substance use and/or mental health conditions; promotes employment, education, health, and community integration; and serves as a role model for personal recovery.
Delivers services including outreach, monitoring, advocacy, daily living support, crisis intervention, consultation to families, development of functional skills and appropriate behavior, transportation to implement the individual service plan, and related functions; services may be rendered in a group setting or on an individual basis.
Participates in special events, conferences, workshops, and training within the mental health system and community.
Works closely with staff, hospitals, and other community agencies and organizations; documents all contacts and activities in the individual's records.
REQUIREMENTS
M1: High school diploma or equivalent
M2: Must be, or previously have been, a recipient of mental health or substance use disorder services for a mental illness or substance use disorder and should be well along in the recovery process
M3: Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace.
ANNUAL SALARY RANGE
$37,832 - $66,206
