We are seeking a
Speech-Language Pathologist:
The Southern Maine Administrative Collaborative (SMAC) focuses on early intervention for children showing signs of increased speech and developmental issues. SMAC is a unique organization that returns our profits to the public school system. So put your time and expertise to work for the benefit of your community!
Join the only SLP team in Maine serving primarily preschool children on-site at preschools, with little travel required and no case management. Professional development and ASHA dues reimbursed. Current positions available in public preschool and special purpose preschool settings in the Biddeford/Saco area, within 20 minutes from Portland. Responsibilities
Assessing children's communication skills for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment.
Collaborating with a variety of groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines.
Developing and implementing treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Certification/License
Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license as issued by the Maine State Board of Examiners on Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Education Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
Experience Successful prior experience working with the appropriate grade levels is preferred, but not required.
