Job Summary The Postdoctoral Research Associate will offer support for research projects related to the educator residency and apprenticeship programs at USM. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work collaboratively with the rest of the educator pathways team to manage data collection and analysis related to long-term placement pathways and will support the development and dissemination of research reports and publications. This position reports to the Director of Teacher Residency and will be limited to a 12-month appointment, with renewal dependent on satisfactory performance and available funding.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the integration of record systems and institutional data sets from internal and third-party vendors into a central data warehouse for analytical and decision-making purposes.
Works collaboratively with the residency and apprenticeship teams to determine the appropriate research questions and methodologies to support the overall research agenda.
Provides data analytic, statistical, and data visualization techniques necessary to answer programmatic research questions.
Engages in dissemination of research findings in multiple outlets including peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, press, and social media.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, or closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Effective Communication: Delivers clear, concise, and accurate communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner, adapting to diverse audiences and providing constructive feedback.
Data and Process Management: Skilled in data entry, extraction, and analysis using various software applications; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant computer software; and capable of writing clear and concise reports and correspondence.
Professionalism: Handles sensitive information with discretion, maintains confidentiality, and works effectively and efficiently in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in grant writing or working in a Higher Education or public K-12 setting.
