Overview
A Congenital Cardiac Sonographer 2 is a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures to patients with congenital heart disease. The Congenital Cardiac Sonographer 2 is a capable clinician, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients. Assumes a beginning leadership role but seeks mentoring in this process. Demonstrates the cognitive skills required to perform comprehensive echocardiographic imaging on fetal, neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients with a core level of expertise in congenital heart disease. Demonstrates the technical skills and abilities required to perform comprehensive congenital echocardiograms. Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and technical requirements for Contrast Saline Echocardiography (Doppler enhancement and shunt evaluation). Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and technical requirements for Maternal Hyperoxygenation (MH) Diagnostic Fetal Echocardiogram. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates cognitive skills to perform comprehensive echocardiographic imaging on fetal, neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients with congenital heart disease.
Performs comprehensive congenital echocardiograms with appropriate technical proficiency.
Demonstrates knowledge and technical requirements for Contrast Saline Echocardiography (Doppler enhancement and shunt evaluation).
Demonstrates knowledge and technical requirements for Maternal Hyperoxygenation (MH) Diagnostic Fetal Echocardiogram.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound or echocardiography ultrasound certification with either CCI or ARDMS; Associate’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Two years of clinical experience required.
License/Certification:
Credentials from ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS). American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Physical Demands:
Standing for prolonged periods; frequent bending/stooping and travel; reaching overhead; repetitive motion of ultrasound transducer; ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs; proficiency in communication, writing legibly, and attention to detail. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids, and disease.
Position Details Compensation Range: $31.98 - $51.17 Hourly
