Temporary - Full Time Assistant Athletic Trainer
The Department of Athletics at Fayetteville State University is seeking a Temporary Full Time Assistant Athletic Trainer. The selected candidate will have an expected start date of August 1, 2024. Position Information
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Director of Athletic Training Services/Head Athletic Trainer and is independently responsible for the day-to-day sports medicine/athletic training operations of one or more of the university's 11 NCAA D2 athletic teams and Cheerleading. The primary purpose of the Department of Athletics is to provide a program of intercollegiate athletics for students at the university, creating an environment whereby student-athletes can progress academically and compete athletically at the highest level. Responsibilities
Independently oversee all sports medicine operations for assigned teams with minimum supervision. Prevention, Evaluation, Treatment, and Rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries and illnesses. Maintain accurate and complete documentation utilizing an electronic medical record system. Completing required insurance claims and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations (FERPA, HIPAA, etc.). Daily interaction and communication with coaching staff, including routine reports and correspondence. Work closely with team orthopedic practice/team physicians and schedule medical appointments. Maintain communication with Student Health Services for non-orthopedic illnesses and advocate for nutritional and mental health resources. Attend designated team practices/events and travel to away events as needed. Maintain Athletic Training equipment and facilities and uphold policies and procedures set forth by the university, CIAA Conference, and NCAA. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from a CAATE-approved Athletic Training Education Program. Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer. Current North Carolina state licensure or eligible for application. Current CPR and First Aid certifications. Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
