Child & Family Therapist - Clinic Based
Bellingham, WA
|
Full-Time | 40 hours/week Licensed Scale - $30.93-$45.90/hr DOE
What You’ll Be Working With The Whatcom Child & Family Program provides counseling and support services to children and youth who experience emotional or behavioral challenges. Services include individual and family therapy, crisis prevention, and coordination with schools, courts, and other providers. We are committed to promoting growth, stability, and recovery using trauma-informed, culturally competent care.
What You’ll Be Doing The Clinician II provides a full range of therapeutic services to children, youth, and families, including those referred from local school districts.
Delivering individual and family behavioral health counseling
Utilizing evidence-based practices in therapy and care planning
Supporting youth and families through life transitions and behavioral challenges
Reviewing and coordinating IEPs, 504 Plans, and Crisis Plans with schools
Attending school and court meetings as needed
Collaborating with psychiatric providers, natural supports, and partner systems
Assessing and addressing safety and risk concerns with clients/families
Monitoring compliance with treatment and legal mandates
Working in a mix of in-clinic, school-based, and telehealth settings
What You Bring
MA/MS/MSW in a Behavioral Science-related field
Qualifies as a
Mental Health Professional (MHP)
per WAC (preferred)
Meets requirements for
Child Mental Health Specialist
(preferred)
Experience or strong interest in Evidence-Based Practices
Agency Affiliated Counselor registration required upon hire if not independently licensed
Valid WA State Driver's License, insurance, and reliable transportation
