Overview
Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic at Sevita (Mentor Community Services). This is a part-time role with potential to grow. Position starts with about 20-25 hours per week, with potential to build up to full-time hours.
Responsibilities
Plan, schedule and provide weekly in-home early educational services for a caseload of infants/toddlers with disabilities, including developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders.
Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development for each child, utilizing best practices.
Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development; provide parents with weekly activities and coaching.
Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required
If no Bachelor’s Degree: Associate’s degree (or equivalent) plus 2 years of experience working/volunteering with children; some coursework in Early Childhood Education or Human Development is highly desired
One year experience working with infants or young children and their parents/guardians (experience may be waived if candidate has a Bachelor's degree)
Valid CA driver’s license in good standing; at least one year of driving history
Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Effective communication, compassionate approach, and commitment to quality
Flexible availability, including daytime and some evenings/weekends
