Assistant Professor - Architectural Engineering (Faculty)
The Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in Architectural Engineering beginning in Fall 2025. The successful candidate will be based in Omaha, NE; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Durham School; conduct original impactful research; actively participate in service, outreach, and community engagement; and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in all areas of the university mission. Numerous opportunities for collaborations across the University of Nebraska exist, including with the Nebraska Transportation Center and Midwest Roadside Safety Facility; the Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience; Nebraska Innovation Campus; and other state- and federally-funded research centers and programs. Minimum Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in architectural engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related field. Strong record of scholarly achievement, potential for establishing an externally-funded research program, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and participating in collaborative activities across disciplines. Demonstrated readiness to advance inclusive excellence, as these are core values in our school, college, and university. Preferred Qualifications: Research and/or teaching experience in at least one of the following areas: architectural acoustics and noise control or electrical and lighting systems. Industry experience. Licensed as a professional engineer in the United States.
