Responsibilities
Supports the evaluation and control of indoor air quality and mold issues and concerns throughout Florida State University. Conducts surveys and inspections of work areas and sites, and recommends corrective actions to address findings and ensure compliance with health and safety codes. Works with IAQ Program manager to ensure proactive control of mold and other biological hazards including radon. Responds to reported air quality cases and documents findings. Collaborates with other Facilities departments to remediate and/or mitigate building and HVAC systems impacted by mold, radon or other biological hazards.
Assist in the implementation of Environmental health and Safety programs. Evaluate work environments to identify potential health and safety risks and hazards. Develop and implement corrective actions to address hazards. Provide recommendations to Facilities and other stakeholders for corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations and University requirements.
Collaborates with IAQ manager and Facilities staff to ensure timely response to stakeholder IAQ and mold issues and concerns. Maintains records of inspection findings and corrective actions. Collaborates with the EHS and Facilities staff to maintain standard operating procedures.
Operates, manages, and ensures sampling equipment is maintained and serviceable. Cross-trains and assists with other industrial hygiene and occupational safety tasks as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience, (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Must be able to obtain the Mold Assessor and Remediation licenses within 120 days of hire.
