OVERVIEW The function of Maintenance Supervisor of the Instrumentation Shop is to supervise and manage the maintenance and capital project functions required in the Refinery with regards to instrumentation, automatic valves, and metal detectors. The candidate will also collaborate with various departments to plan and complete work for capital projects. DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities span all phases of instrumentation, including repairs, troubleshooting, upgrades, improvements, scheduling, preventive maintenance and maintenance planning. Manages the maintenance and capital project functions required in the Refinery with regards to instrumentation, automatic valves, and metal detectors. Responsible for scheduling, direction, deployment and safety of instrument technicians. Identifies and orders all materials required to perform work on projects. WORK EXPERIENCES A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience repairing and installing instrumentation in an industrial environment is required. The ideal candidate will also have 5 years of experience in a supervisory role. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED is required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Directly responsible for the supervision and training of instrument technicians. Provides relief supervision for other maintenance shops as business needs dictate. ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) Proven record of successful implementation of modifications and/or upgrades to increase reliability and improve performance/efficiency. Must have a mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot. The Instrument Shop Supervisors will require computer skills to order parts and handle work orders in the Computerized Maintenance System. Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
