The Town of Southampton is accepting applications for a Civil Engineer position who will work within the Department of Municipal Works with a main focus on Site Plan and Subdivision Reviews, Site Inspections, Stormwater Management and NYSDEC MS4 Compliance. Candidate shall be proficient in site development, design and estimating, and be comfortable dealing with outside governmental agencies to progress capital improvement plans involving Stormwater and Municipal Works. Software Skills required in Microsoft Office, Stormwater Programs - Storm Cad/SWIM, Autocad This is a Civil Service position which will require an examination administered by Suffolk County. Annual Salary - $93,208.32 plus full benefit package Candidate must possess a Professional Engineer’s License issued by the State of New York; or, have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Sanitary Engineering; and, either: a) Three (3) years of experience as a civil engineer, sanitary engineer or civil or sanitary engineer trainee in a state or municipal department; or b) Four (4) years of experience as a civil engineer, sanitary engineer, or civil or sanitary engineer trainee in a private organization. NOTE: A Master’s Degree in Engineering Technology or Civil or Sanitary Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
