The Fabricator is responsible for crafting and assembling metal components used in the production and modification of custom vehicles. This role involves working with a variety of materials, including sheet metal, aluminum, and alloys, to create structural elements, body panels, framing, and customized features. The Automotive Metal Fabricator must possess a deep understanding of automotive design, fabrication techniques, and welding processes. Responsibilities: Select appropriate metals and materials for automotive fabrication projects. Cut, shape, and prepare materials for fabrication using tools such as forming hammers, bead machines, benders, and brakes. Utilize various techniques, including bending, rolling, and stamping, to shape metal components for automotive applications. Operate brake presses and other machinery to form precise shapes and angles. Perform welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and spot welding to join metal components, ensuring structural integrity and quality of welded joints. Fabricate and install customized features, body panels, or modifications based on design specifications. Assemble fabricated metal components into automotive structures, ensuring proper fit and alignment. Finish metal surfaces through grinding, polishing, and coating processes for a clean appearance. Conduct inspections to ensure components meet quality standards and specifications, addressing defects through adjustments or rework. Collaborate with management, designers, and team members to address technical challenges during fabrication. Adhere to safety protocols when operating machinery and handling materials, maintaining a clean work area. Requirements: Proven experience as an Automotive Metal Fabricator or similar role. In-depth knowledge of automotive fabrication techniques, materials, and standards. Strong welding skills with experience in various techniques. Attention to detail and precision. Physical stamina and strength. Ability to work independently and in a team. Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or apprenticeship in metal fabrication focusing on automotive applications. Welding certification is highly desirable. Job Type: Full-time Salary: $30.00 – $65.00 per hour, based on experience. Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: PTO, Flex Time, Paid Holidays, Health Insurance options.
