Overview
Packaging Lab Technician role at Brown-Forman. Support the launch of New Product Development by ensuring all packaging components meet specified quality, safety, and performance standards through rigorous testing and analysis. Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and operations teams to understand project requirements, develop testing protocols, and interpret results to inform design and material selection. Ensure all documentation is meticulously maintained for audit and regulatory compliance. What You Can Expect
Design and conduct experiments according to B-F and Industry standards: tensile testing, compression, color spectrophotometer, transportation vibration simulator, severe environment simulations, and other package tests. Collect and assist in interpretation of data and provide recommendations for new product development. Generate lab reports and facilitate continuous improvement of laboratory testing success criteria and methods. Generate packaging specifications for new items where appropriate. Record, observe and collect data associated with long term research. Create and update packaging label specifications. Help maintain a 5S workplace. What You Bring To The Table
Associates or bachelor’s of Science Degree with 1 - 2 years of laboratory experience; or 4 – 6 years of combined education and experience. Demonstrated ability to interpret data and provide recommendations. Basic understanding of packaging materials (glass, PET, corrugated, paper). Problem-solving skills with emphasis on diagnosing and solving problems. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop effective working relationships with a broad range of business associates. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and complete work with speed and accuracy within established timeframes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform and adapt in a rapidly changing environment as necessary. Ability and willingness to travel 5% of the time. What Makes You Unique
