Open Rank – Department of Psychology, The City University of New York. The position is at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a senior college within CUNY. The college is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position (Open Rank) in Psychology and Law with research interests at the intersection of Law and Psychology. Anticipated start: Fall 2026. The department seeks candidates who will contribute to research, teaching, and mentoring diverse student populations, with the ability to develop and maintain an active research and publication agenda and pursue external funding. The successful candidate will provide research mentorship to PhD students in CUNY’s Psychology and Law PhD program, master’s students in the Forensic Psychology MS program, and undergraduate Forensic Psychology majors. Faculty will teach, conduct research, advise, and participate in service and administrative responsibilities. Position Overview
ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE or FULL PROFESSOR IN PSYCHOLOGY AND LAW, TENURE TRACK PSYCHOLOGY PHD or JD/PHD The Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track, Open Rank position with a focus on research at the intersection of Law and Psychology (e.g., Cognitive, Developmental, Social, Neuroscience). We are especially interested in candidates with research interests in interrogations and/or confessions. Qualifications include demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring diverse populations, an active research agenda, potential for external funding, and willingness to participate in service. The successful candidate must be eager and qualified to work with a culturally diverse student body. Assistant Professor: $57,252 – $94,909 Associate Professor: $74,249 – $113,982 Professor: $91,878 – $136,546 Salary commensurate with education and credentials. CUNY offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including health insurance, pension, paid parental leave, and savings programs.
